My partner found an Ape yesterday in Elbe, so today was my turn. A bit of a drive, but the ape was patiently waiting when we arrived!

cron publish 17 hours 37 minutes ago 108 - Scardy Ape - Precursors

Burnett-Fairfax Hwy, Carbonado, WA, US

Scardy Ape is afraid to be in the forest mostly because of forest fires. Because he leaps from tree to tree he can see the forest thru the trees. Of course Scardy Ape also helps Smokey the Bear locate smoke and fires. Then sometimes he is just plain scared and hides behind Smokey. "Remember--"Only You can Prevent Wildfires".

cron publish 1 day 17 hours ago 008 - This Ape Can See For Miles - Precursors

Cleator Rd, Bellingham, WA, US

This ape heard that Larrabee State Park had beautiful views with rocks and trails to explore, so he took advantage of a beautiful day and went exploring! He rested at this terrific lunch spot - Cyrus Gates Overlook - and took in the views.

You'll find him tethered under the sign - feel free to bring a tool to release him, or simply slide him free!

You must have a Discover Pass for your vehicle to park in this area, as well as in this park.

cron publish 1 day 17 hours ago 077 - Ape Needs REST!! - Lily Commanders

WA-504, Toutle, WA, US

This Ape had been hiking all day - 10.6 miles to be exact and was very tired and needed to rest, in it's sleepy state the Ape thought that the sign said Hammocks ahead and pulled in to find one to sleep in. what he really found was Hummocks - which are part of Mt. Saint Helens that moved down off of the mountain the day she blew. but the ape was tired so it is napping under the sign in the picture

cron publish 1 day 17 hours ago 144 - Taking the Train - Precursors

This ape was headed up the West side of Mt. Rainier but decided to stop and take a train the rest of the way. Little does it know that this train is not going all that far. But it may end up in a museum like the train it is resting on.

You are looking for spot behind a vertical bolt on the back of the structure.

cron publish 2 days 17 hours ago 015 - This Ape got lost

NF-83, Cougar, WA, US location_on N 46 09.938, W 122 05.252

This Ape went looking for the Ape Canyon to hang out and have a hiking party but took a wrong turn and ended up in the Lava Canyon. After it went down and looked at the amazing waterfall it found a place to tuck in and hide on the way back up from those muggles that were headed down the trail. look behind the sign - you will need a NorthWest Forest Pass or National Park Pass if you want to spend some time here - but this can be found in under 2 minutes from the parking lot.

cron publish 2 days 17 hours ago 080 - Yakima River Gateway Park - Precursors

The Ape was floating down the Yakima River on his floaty and stopped at this park in West Richland, WA. He took a look at this sign to try to get his bearings and realized where the sign showed "You are here" was not actually where he was. So, he looked on the other side of the sign and left something.

Narrows Park in Gig Harbor is a really pleasant place to explore at low tide and always offers a spectacular view of the Narrows Bridge. Sometimes, Mt. Rainier is visible too. If you hike north of the bridge make sure you know when the tide will turn!

The seated GPS has found the tag!

A tag in Orange Gate Park. Is just a short walk and cords can be jumpy. Should not matter to much as you are in "OrangeGate" park.

If you need a clue its in the description.

The APES have learned to enjoy a good 1st class seat on the plane to travel to various Geocaching events. Like the APE mega! Although this airport isn’t the closest to the event, Vancouver is a very popular place to land.

APEs also like to sit in this park watching planes take off...can you spot this one?

Up in the wind farm area of Eastern Washington. I thought the Field and Stream Club seemed to ba an oxymoron with the dry grass and big windmills in the background. This is a gravel/dirt road so be aware if it has been raining. There are some great views from up here.

Hint: Base of corner fence post under a rock.

This tag is located in our favorite local park. City Of Kent's Clark Lake Park. We love strolling around here.

This tag is secured with clear gorilla tape to the back of the "Environmental Restoration Site!" sign. The sign is attached to the left side of the welcome board at the South entrance.

cron publish 6 days 17 hours ago 050 - Gig Harbor Cemetery - Lily Commanders

Drummond Dr NW, Gig Harbor, WA, US

There are 5 or 6 Gig Harbor cemeteries. For me this one is the furthest removed from everyday life. Established in 1891, it is the final resting place for many of the town's best and brightest after whom a number of the town's streets have been named. It was one of the first places I found a cache in Gig Harbor. Alas, it has now been archived.

You'd have to go to another cemetery to find the resting places for the early Croatian immigrants who established the fishing industry here. (Hint for a future Tag?)

Look left and avoid the barbed wire. Under a stone.

Ape #26 decided to take a walk on this beautiful sunny day through the Yashiro Gardens. He entered through the parking lot entrance, then stayed along the "right" path until he came to a lantern that was installed at the dedication for the park. He tried to read the carved stone monument written in Japanese, but all of the walking, and reading, and sun made him a little sleepy, so he found some shade under the stone monument and curled up for a brief nap.

Ape #27 decided to swing by this train trestle mural on his way through Rainier. He admired the painting for a while and then decided to “guard” the trestle for a while himself. Although Justin’s nickname was a different animal, I think he appreciated the support!

Captain William Clark Park Trail, Washougal, WA, US

This ape (Steve) is hiding in the rocks after going off looking for some geocaches trying to make his escape, he has gone through some sort of time warp as he originally was with his friends Lewis and Clark but only a couple of their boats remain. He is hoping to drag one to the water but there are native human talking muggles everywhere now and he is very confused.

Come rescue him, he is tucked in at the at the rocks shown.
